Known for cultivating mystery, Nero rarely do interviews or reveal things to the public about their music. It was released after the singles “Satisfy”, “The Thrill”, “Two Minds” had been released, and then “Into The Night” was released as it’s fourth single. However, for unknown reasons it was delayed until September 11th, 2015. In 2015 they announced their second album “Between II Worlds” would be released on August 28 (following a theme of 2808 which they have set out in both stages of their music). It was not until three years later, that their debut album “Welcome Reality” was released on the 12th of August, 2011 featuring a total of eight singles including: “Innocence”, “Me & You”, “Guilt”, “Promises”, “Crush on You”, “Reaching Out”, “Must Be The Feeling”, and bonus track single “Won’t You (Be There)”. The duo turned trio, was originally formed by producers Daniel Stephens and Joseph Ray before adding vocalist Alana Watson four years later in 2008. They rose to prominence with their #1 single and album “Promises” and “Welcome Reality”, respectively. It would have to be depicted in a futuristic type setting, say, 50 or 60 years from now which is a possibility.“Nero” are a electronic/dubstep trio from the United Kingdom. I would also presume that both the male and female would find a way to overthrow this evil dystopian society by convincing others to be self reliant and not dependent on government to the point of relinquishing all freedoms, even the freedom to be self.
I presume if this was actually made into a movie the main protagonist would be the female, and the secondary would be the male. Probably a lobotomy speculative only of course. Thus the promises they made with each other are a wast until they openly reveal to all that self expression and individual creativity are a good thing and should not be under control by the government they are under They cannot even touch! Additionally, individualism is restricted by a government which has decided to control everything and take care of their needs to include self expression and emotion for each other.īoth decide to openly rebel and break the promises they have secretly made with each other fully knowing the consequences, probably hoping to ignite a spark of emotion in others in order to possibly topple the society of which they are living. It appears the female talks the male into deviating from the established protocol of that society as she has become in touch with her emotion, (hmmm sounds like the Biblical occurrence with Adam and Eve? Just sayin').Īnyway, in the video, the people are alienated from each other. Society is being watched by "big brother" and are also controlled in every aspect of their lives to include emotions. My InterpretationI believe this is a depiction of a dystopian society similar to what is depicted in the novel, "1984". POLACHEK, DAVE, 1925Girl to remember song, lyrics and music by Dave Polachek. Promises, and they still feel oh so wasted on myself
